WEEKEND ROUNDUP, part 2: Hungover Sunday pickup

Luckily I don't get hangovers and was therefore able to take (some of) these pictures:

WEEKEND ROUNDUP, part 1: Kevin's birthday party and The Redbucks

Happy... how old are you anyway? (At Crescent Moon, Xinjiang restaurant)

At 2 Kolegas.

We'll give you one guess as to who won the limbo contest. (It wasn't Therese, and not Joe, though someone who may or may not be his brother.)

Ellen's surprise birthday party last night

Usually I'd leave this for Weekend Roundup, but Kevin's bday dinner is tonight, with The Redbucks playing at 2 Kolegas afterwards, and pickup Sunday, so I'll have plenty to write about on Monday.

Last night a group of us surprised Ellen at her apartment with cooking and a cake. Organized by Alicia, HHH and Jim were cooking with Ellen when Jeff, Gareth, Sandy, Alicia and I showed up unexpected. Then Kevin, Ace and Joe, Baby Girl and Leigh showed up. (Who's Lee? Ask Baby Girl.)

Fun and games ensued, and delicious pasta dinner and Park Hyatt cake with ice cream.

WEEK IN REVIEW: Beijing 2010

It's a New Year for Beijing Ultimate. What can you expect in the new decade?
  • More drinking
  • More debauchery
  • More Jim
  • Am I being redundant? Then I am being redundant.
  • More Betsy
  • More pictures with an upgraded camera
  • More tournaments
  • More parties
  • More of the same, and different
  • And above all, more championships. We're calling it. You're on notice, Asia Ultimate.

GOOGLE GROUPS POST OF THE WEEK:

2010 is a new year for Betsy too: The Random Winter E-mail from Betsy, 1/15:

hibernators,

betsy cannot stand by any longer. she will not tolerate the public defiling of this great network of information that she alone has built and nurtured since the dawn of the internet. is she not even allowed a few months of peaceful solace to bronze her perfect suppleness in the south pacific paradise and be chased by glorious, rich, chiseled man-men? does she have to do everything around here?

apparently so.

RANDOM ITEM #1: The Weekly Schedule

Every Wednesday, Pick Up, 7-9, BCIS
Every Sunday, Pick Up, 1-3, Dulwich

betsy would like to point out that the pick up schedule is subject to change at alicia’s slightest whim. it is recommended that you check the group site every hour up to the day of pick up, and several times per minute in the final hours.

_________

now is the time in the random email when betsy gives her shout outs and call outs. remember, you want to get shouted out, but you don't want to get called out. this week, everyone is either called out or shouted out. betsy offers a handy tool to determine which category you are in.

WEEK IN REVIEW: Sayanora to 2009

Well here we are, officially in a new decade.

2009 was good to Beijing Ultimate, but 2010's going to be better, so I'm not going to bother with a year-in-review in words. Also, the slideshow will sum things up.

PICTURES OF THE WEEK (from Ellen's New Year's Eve gathering):

GOOGLE GROUPS POST OF THE WEEK:

Kevin Reitz in the thread, "Our favorite Jim Kirchhoff" (slim pickings this week):

He's not MY favorite Jim Kirchoff.

There was another, a long time ago, probably the greatest Jim Kirchoff that ever lived. That Jim Kirchoff used to eat sparkles and paste in preschool. He could color inside the lines like nobody's business. I only knew him shortly, but it felt like a lifetime. And he could fart on command. That was hilarious to a 5 year old..

But our Jim Kirchoff is easily second favorite. For now...

That is all.
