WEEK IN REVIEW: The coming of change

Soon, the best season of the year commences in Beijing, turning a city of dust and development into somewhat of an urban paradise, with more blue skies, white clouds and comfortable temperatures. Autumn is by far the best time to be in Beijing, though this year, for reasons that elude me at the moment (or reasons I choose to keep at bay), our excitement is tempered by a sense of foreboding at the coming winter, which inevitably harbingers the passing of seasons and the passing of years. A change is in the air, we can feel it. It is not a pleasant change, and as such we will push it to the hinterland of our thoughts until it confronts us like a beast that must be fed, or exterminated. When that time comes, I will backlink to this blog post.
